Step 3.1 – Adding Items

You must first add the product first in WooCommerce to run this online store. However, before knowing it in more detail, it is important for us to learn the basic information of WooCOmmerce and understand what products are categories, attributes, and types:

Product category – Product category helps you in grouping products. For example, if you want to sell clothing, ‘top wear’, ‘bottom wear’ and ‘night wear’ are product categories. Product category makes it easy for visitors to find products from the same group. You can create as many categories as possible and edit them at any time.
Attributes – Attribute serves to filter the product. Product attributes, such as size, color, materials, and likes, make it easy for customers to have a preferred product. You can choose whether to specify attributes for each product or for all web pages (attribute globally).
Product types – You can save time because WooCommerce has provided a predefined product type:

  • Simple – This type of product is shipped with no choice whatsoever. For example, a printed book.
  • Grouped – This type of product is a group of interrelated goods. For example, 1 kodi clothes.
  • Virtual – This type of product does not need to be sent, such as a service.
  • Downloadable: Product type you can download. For example, songs, pictures, videos, e-books, etc.
  • External: The products advertised on your website can be sold anywhere.
  • Variable: This type of product has a quality factor, such as size, color, etc. For example, clothing.

Even knowing what to sell, you may be confused when adding products to WooCommerce because of the large variety of items. Actually, adding a product to WooCommerce is similar to when you post a new blog on a personal blog. First, move cursor to Product selection and click Add Product button or Create your first product!
